Getting Going…

The workload is beginning to pick up…Last week and this week are full of presentations and cases. Finals are still two months away, though, and so we still are not in turbo mode. We are, however, starting to work more on our theses.

I think the students are starting to realize and appreciate the value more in IE´s unique program: it´s short and challenging; comprehensive, but with a practical business focus; extremely diverse and international; and it emphasizes an overall balance in the work, as well as in life.

The natives of English are improving their Spanish and the natives of Spanish are improving their English. My Spanish is improving, as well; but, I am not yet at the level I want to be. I only have 6 more months to achieve a business level of Spanish…

The school has a really great set up, I agree with Andrew here. The first semester is tough, trying to bring everyone to the same level as we all have incredibly varied backgrounds. It’s a lot to take in in such a short amount of time. This semester, we actually have one more course than last, but it seems much more accessible. Andrew is fully correct in saying that we are all focused on getting our theses on the go – meetings with professors and research is a large part of the dialogue these days.

The program professors are incredibly helpful and willing to provide everyone with resources and advice, not only for thesis but any other concerns.
